AeraWise ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we handle your information.
1. Information We Collect
Account information: Name and email address if you choose to sign in (optional).
Study data: Notes, questions, teaching sessions, and settings are stored locally in your browser (localStorage). We do not upload this to our servers unless you explicitly use cloud sync features.
Usage data: We do not use analytics tracking tools.
AI conversations: Your messages are sent to Anthropic's API to generate responses; Anthropic's privacy policy applies to this data. Your conversations stay on your device unless you sign in for cloud sync, in which case your study data — including saved teaching sessions — is stored in your own private row in our database (Supabase) so it syncs across your devices.
2. How We Use Your Information
To provide and improve the AeraWise service.
To send push notifications if you opt in (review reminders).
We never sell your data to third parties.
3. Data Storage
Most of your data lives in your browser's localStorage — it stays on your device. If you sign in and use cloud features (cross-device sync, shareable notes, friends and leaderboards, classes, collaborative rooms), that data is stored in Supabase on EU (Frankfurt) servers, in compliance with GDPR.
4. Your Rights (GDPR)
If you are in the EU/EEA, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, email us at hello@aerawise.com. You can also clear all local data by clearing your browser's localStorage.
5. Cookies
AeraWise does not use cookies. We use localStorage for storing your preferences and study data.
6. Third-Party Services
Anthropic: AI responses are processed by Anthropic's Claude API.
Supabase: Optional cloud storage and accounts (sign-in, cloud sync, friends, classes and study rooms).
Google: "Sign in with Google" uses Google OAuth; spoken answers in some languages use Google's Text-to-Speech.
7. Children
AeraWise is intended for students aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
